On Saturday, close to 2:55 a.m. on the south side of Houston, George Floyd’s 4-year-old niece was shot in her residence.
The shooting, that happened in the 3300 block of Yellowstone Boulevard, occurred when someone intentionally shot into an apartment, police say. It resulted in the little girl being shot while four adults and one other child were present.
The girl suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to a medical facility. She went into surgery and was reported to be in stable condition.
Relatives of the girl disclosed that her name is Arianna, and that she wasn’t awake at the time of the shooting. Her father said that the child suffered injuries to her liver and ribs, as well.
No suspect has been named, and a motive is unclear.
However, the family says that they are aware of who the suspect is but think it was just a ‘coincidence.’
