Four people were found dead near a resort in Cancun, Mexico on Monday.
Only three bodies were initially found when Benito Juarez’s prosecutor’s office publicly announced the discovery and launch of their investigation. However, a short time later, a fourth body was also located. All four victims are believed to be from Mexico.
Two suspects were arrested in the case after officials say the suspects and victims were engaging in a sale of distribution of narcotics.
Due to a recent increase in murders and kidnappings in the area, the State Department released a notice, advising travelers to “exercise increased caution due to crime and kidnapping” in the state of Quintana Roo.
