Founder Of South Dallas Pizzeria, Blackjack Pizza, Passes Away At Age 81

The owner of the popular Dallas pizzeria, Blackjack Pizza, passed away last week in his home.

Frank E. Gee Jr. passed away at age 81 around family and friends inside his Oakcliff home, according to family.

In 1990 Gee Jr and Terry Jones founded the Blackjack Pizza located on 2536 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. it has since been renamed to DJ Blackjack Pizza.

The restaurant quickly became known for its large pizza slices, homemade pies and reasonable prices. It’s also known for its homemade hamburgers.

After establishing the pizzeria in South Dallas he opened another location in Pleasant Grove on St. Augustine Rd.

His cause of death has not been released but it was said he passed away at home around friends and family.
