Fort Worth Police Cadet Struck by Lightning

A cadet with the Fort Worth Police Department was struck by lightning while training late Friday morning.

Storm clouds started developing in Tarrant County at around 11:15 a.m. when the unnamed cadet was suddenly jolted by a lightning strike while at the FWPD Headquarters on West Felix Street.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the cadet was taken to the hospital and treated for an ankle injury. He is reportedly in good condition.

Two firefighters were also reportedly struck during the lightning storm this morning. They both remained on duty and only received minimal injuries.

  1. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found
    a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear
    and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
