A family in North Texas is seeking answers after a hit-and-run accident led to the death of a 13-year-old boy.

In November, the Forth Worth Police Department handed out fliers for teen Israel Hernandez after his family had reported him missing. A couple of weeks following that, on Dec. 2, TxDot workers discovered his body close to I-30 and West Loop 820 in Fort Worth.

“It’s time to find this hit and run driver. To get this person, this awful person off the streets, so this doesn’t happen again to another family,” stated one of Israel’s relatives to the public.

“He always gave his heart, wore his heart on his shoulder. He had a heart of gold; he was a good kid and didn’t deserve this,” another family member added.

Relatives, friends, and detectives are attempting to determine exactly what happened to Israel. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the deadly incident, that occured on November 15th or 16th, in that location, to contact police.
