Both Fort Worth and Dallas zoos plan to reopen May 29, Friday, for their visitors but with new rules in place.
The max capacity for incoming visitors will be twenty-five percent, when you purchase your ticket online. When you have indeed the zoo you will notice changes, as well as more guidelines, await you.
You most likely will notice new staff called the “Clean Team”, who are meant to wipe down surfaces that have been touched frequently.
As stated by Alexis Wilson, “Anything that is touched frequently, whether it’s a door handle or the glass at an aquarium or anything that people could come into contact with throughout the day, we want to be cleaning.”
In addition to the “Clean Team”, cleaning stations have been placed throughout the zoo.
The indoor Exhibits are to remain closed to all visitors of the zoo, but the dining areas have been reopened, of course with social distancing in mind.
Twenty-five percent capacity is the maxim for the restaurants and staff has removed tables and chairs to help with the distancing.
They also encourage wearing facial masks, all staff will be required to wear them during zoo hours.
One thing Alexia noticed was the frequently asked question, “Did the animals miss seeing people?” She states that it is not something that we’ll ever really know, but that they are in tune and attentive with their environment.
“They probably noticed that people aren’t here, so we think they’re going to notice that they’re back.”
