Fort Worth ISD to Layoff Staff Members and Cut Budgets by End of Week

Fort Worth Independent School District is cutting budgets and laying off staff members for the 2024 – 2025 school year.

According to Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Angelica M. Ramsey, all of those impacted will be notified no later than Friday.

Last year alone, the district cut budgets by $1.6 million. Ramsey explains that there has not been an increase in Texas school funding since 2019.

Despite the anticipated layoffs, Fort Worth ISD says there are some job openings in which those being cut may switch to. Of course, if they wish to remain with the school district.
