Fort Worth Dunbar Basketball Coach Put On Leave Following Student Allegation

3.7kviews

Robert Hughes Jr., the Fort Worth Dunbar High School boys basketball coach, has been put on leave. This is following him being accused by a student of inappropriate behavior, stated Forth Worth ISD Superintendent Angelica Ramsey.

Ramsey added that the district has followed guidelines and contacted law enforcement about the accusations after they were reported.

Fort Worth Police then issued a citation to Hughes for Assault by Offensive Contact, a Class C misdemeanor.

Assault by Offensive Contact happens when an individual “intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact with another when the person knows or should reasonably believe that the other will regard the contact as offensive or provocative.” This is according to the Texas Penal Code.

Hughes Jr. has been a coach at Dunbar since 2005, after taking over after his father, Robert Hughes Sr., used to be the coach.

Swan Lacy, an ex-Dunbar player, will now lead the team in Hughes Jr.’s absence.

  1. Undeniably consider that which you said. Your favourite justification appeared
to be on the net the easiest factor to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked
whilst folks think about issues that they plainly do not realize about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and defined out
the entire thing without having side effect , folks can take
a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
