The body of former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard was found deceased early Wednesday morning on shore after he went missing Sunday while swimming with his son.
Gaspard was about 50 yards offshore when a lifeguard saw a wave sweep him and his son out to sea.
The Fire Department tried to rescue both Gaspard and his 10 year old son but said in his last words he told lifeguards to “Save my son before he was pushed back under another wave.”
Gaspard’s son was found and did not require any medical treatment at a hospital.
An investigator with the coroner’s office confirmed the body was Gaspard’s, and the wrestler’s family has been notified.
The wrestling organization released a statement saying, “WWE’s thoughts are with the family of Shad Gaspard. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Shad is survived by his wife Siliana and their son.
