Former UH Basketball Player Reggie Chaney Dies At 23

Reggie Chaney, an ex-University of Houston basketball player, has died.

Information surrounding his death hasn’t been released.

Chaney started his college career at the University of Arkansas in 2018 where he played in 35 games his first year. However, after his second year, he was transferred to Houston. There, he was a part of the 2020-21 team that went all the way to the NCAA tournament’s Final Four.

In the past season with the Cougs, he played in 35 games and was awarded the American Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year.

Chaney had been set to play professionally in Greece later this year.

He was 23.
