Former President Donald Trump is starting his own social media app, TRUTH Social. His goal is to “stand up to Big Tech” businesses like Twitter and Facebook, that have prohibited him from their sites.
Trump Media and Technology Group, and a special acquisition company(SPAC) will create TRUTH Social.
“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet, your favorite president has been silenced. This is unacceptable,” Trump said in a statement.
The social network will be released in three different phases. Next month, a little bit will be launched. In January, a whole rollout will begin. Then, a subscription video-on-demand service will appear. This will be called TMTG+ and will have news, entertainment, and podcasts.
The company eventually hopes to compete with Amazon.com’s AWS cloud service and Google Cloud.
This deal estimates the worth of Trump Media & Technology Group at $875 million, including debt.
