A former Fresno, California police officer is facing several charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted four women while on duty.
38-year-old J. DeShawn Torrence received a 10 count indictment from a federal grand jury after they say he deprived women of their constitutional rights under the color law.

It was stated in the indictment that he engaged in multiple acts of non consensual sex acts as well as making them remove clothing without probable cause between August 2017 to June 2021.
Four of the charged counts carry a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. One count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years. The remaining five counts each carry a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
