Former Pediatrician Charged With Sexually Assaulting Young Girls During Annual Exams

1.5kviews

A retired pediatrician has been accused of sexually assaulting some of his former patients from when they were very young until they became teenagers.

Records show that two women have said that Dr. Richard Kauff, of Boston, MA, agonizingly and painfully penetrated their private areas, using his fingers. They added that he had no medical reason to do so when they had yearly physical exams beginning in the 90s.

One woman alleges that the sexual assaults occurred at two places, in Norwell and Kingston. The other woman told authorities that Kauff would conduct a regular exam prior to moving down her underwear. He would then request that she “count out loud to three while his fingers were inside her.”

Each woman separately disclosed that Kauff had said, “it’s like a rocket ship” or it might “feel like a rocket ship.”

It is reported that one of the women anonymously posted on Facebook in October after talking with a therapist. She had realized that her appointments with Kauff weren’t normal, when the other woman, whom she didn’t know, replied with her own horrifying experience.

Kauff doesn’t have any disciplinary issues noted on the state Board of Registration in Medicine website.

He retired last year and is due in court to be arraigned on Nov. 20.
