A former DFW radio personality at KFWR 95.9 The Ranch, pleaded guilty to a sexual assault charge of a 17-year-old at his Mansfield home.

Justin Barrett Frazell, 48, was booked in Tarrant County on March 23, 2021 for an incident that occurred at a New Year’s party.

Frazell hosted a party at his house, celebrating the new year. Adults were there along with teens who were allowed to drink. Children were also present in the home.

One of the teens was alone in a room after her parents left the party, allowing her to stay the night.

At some point, Frazell entered the room and gave her a drink, saying, “This is between us. Don’t say I never do anything for you.”

After drinking a little of the alcoholic drink, the teen fell asleep.

According to Mansfield police, the girl told them that Frazell committed sex acts on her without her consent. The teen said Frazell stopped when he heard a child at a bathroom close by.

Following Frazell’s arrest, the radio station announced they would be firing him.

Frazell started working at the station in 2009 and is known for hosting the Texas Red Dirt Music show.

He will serve seven years of deferred adjudication for the crime. He must also register as a sex offender and may not own firearms or use drugs or alcohol.

The victim and her family have agreed to his plea.
