A Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly putting a child in the dryer and turning it on.
Amber Chapman, 35, was charged with aggravated child abuse after a 4-year-old was taken to the emergency room with bruises.
The boy had “grape-sized” bruising around his eyes, ears, shoulder, and lower back.
The boy reportedly told medical workers that “Miss Amber” put him in the dryer with towels and spun him “round and round.” She then opened the door, closed it, and started the machine again, the boy explained.
A Child Protection Team could not conclusively establish if the injuries came from the dryer. However, a medical report shows that doctors found the injuries to be consistent with the boy’s story.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the child was left in the care of Chapman and has been on many occasions.
Law enforcement did not release a motive for the abuse.
She was released from custody on Saturday on a $15,000 bond.
