Florida Police Say Biracial Teen is Innocent After Being Tased

1.2kviews

A biracial,16 year-old teen who was tasered, will not face any charges.

Last month, surveillance footage showed Jack Rodeman being tasered by a Florida Highway Patrol officer. He was waiting to be let in his girlfriend’s home.

The couple had planned on meeting at the house. However, Officer George Smyrious thought he was a burglar because he took a shortcut through some bushes.

Rodeman was held at a detention center for 10 days. He was booked on failure to obey police- a public crime order and second-degree misdemeanor. Charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence.

After the incident,  Rodeman experienced pain in the neck and head because of the voltage of the taser. It caused him to hit his head on an outside oven.

Rodeman’s mother insists that this was racially motivated and is seeking legal counsel.

Smyrious said he thought the teenager was “suspicious” because he was wearing all black.
