Authorities in Plano, Texas, say that they have apprehended five people who have been named as serial ATM theft suspects.
Last week, Plano PD made the apprehensions as they captured a group of would-be thieves attempting to steal an ATM at the 7-Eleven at Jupiter Road and Park Boulevard.
Authorities say that the thieves got to the location just prior to 5 a.m. and connected a steel cable to the ATM in the store.
As they attempted to use a truck to get the ATM through the front of the store, Plano Police officers surrounded them.
Those who were arrested are Jonathan Houff, Santericka Burns, Ashlie McGill, Keenen Motton, and Ladarius Scott. They have been charged with Theft of Property <$300K ATM, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Evading Arrest/Detention, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Officials say that the suspects are from Dallas and are connected to a group of thieves who were apprehended in June.
Back then, police stated that the organized theft ring may have been linked to over 50 ATM thefts across the DFW metroplex.
