22-year-old Deandre Rayshaun Charleston is the FedEx driver accused of throwing away hundreds of packages in Alabama.
Now, it is expected that he will turn himself in.
Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon stated that Charleston admitted to dumping the boxes, worth a total of $40,000, in a ditch. He did so five various times between Nov. 17 to Nov. 23. He claimed the reason for his behavior was because he was stressed over a relative’s death and other issues going on in his life.
Moon added that Charleston said he didn’t steal anything, but he just didn’t feel like delivering the items. He was said to be remorseful and knows that he made bad decisions.
Although some of the packages made it to their owner, about 247 of them couldn’t be identified. Those packages were worth about $25,000, alone.
A day after the boxes were found, Charleston was terminated from FedEx.
Charleston was expected to apprehended on Friday after getting off work from another delivery company.
He faces a Class D Felony for cargo theft.
