1.7kviews

The FDA has lifted a major restriction on access to abortion pills. It will allow patients to receive the medication in the mail. Meaning a doctor and a clinic visit are no longer required to get the receive the pills after.

State laws are still in place that can criminalize the practice, However. But the new FDA move will still have a huge impact on women across the nation. Especially women in rural areas who can’t find a clinic or doctor that will administer the drug in person.

Medication abortion can terminate pregnancy up to 10 weeks of gestation in only 2 pills.
And while the FDA is permanently ending the in-person pick-up requirement, you must still sign an additional form for the pill. Clinics must also pre-register with a manufacturer of the drug before they can prescribe it.
