A man has been taken into custody for murder after allegedly shooting and killing another man in front of the victim’s 7-year-old son during a dispute outside a Fort Worth apartment complex.
The incident took place on April 21 around 9:45 p.m. when officers were called to the Buena Vista Apartments following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, Earl Bolden, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital but sadly did not survive his injuries.
Reports indicate that Bolden and the suspect, 25-year-old Javier Jones, had a verbal dispute earlier that evening. Afterward, Bolden left the apartments with his son to run an errand.
When they returned to the complex, Jones allegedly emerged from an alley and opened fire, hitting Bolden in front of his child. He then fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
He has since been apprehended and charged with murder.
