Vyacheslav ‘Slava’ Matrosov, a 34-year-old father in Russia, violently attacked his best friend. This was after he found out that the man was sexually abusing Matrosov’s 6-year-old daughter.
Matrosov was accused of stabbing Oleg Sviridov, 32, to death after forcing him to dig his own grave last year. The incident occurred close to the village of Vintai.
Documents noted that Matrosov discovered a recording on Sviridov’s phone as he slept. It showed his child being made to perform sex acts on Sviridov.
“Every father would have killed someone they saw abusing their child. This will be an example to everyone,” supporters of Matrosov said.
Now, Matrosov won’t face charges for murder as initially stated before. However, he will still be charged for previously trying to get Sviridov to commit suicide. This would cause for a less severe sentence if convicted.
Matrosov is said to be “pleased” that the deliberate murder charge was dropped and always denied the claims.
