A father and son were arrested after having a physical fight with one another that led to someone being shot in Arlington.
On Wednesday, around 8 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call on the 800 block of Blair Lane. Upon arriving they noticed 64 year old Sammy Longoria and his son 43 year old Sammy Longoria Jr., fighting.
Officers quickly separated the men and noticed the father had an apparent gunshot wound. They also learned that the two had gotten into an argument when the son went outside with a gun and fired a shot through his father’s window, striking him.
Both men were transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
They were then released and transported to Arlington City jail.
Longoria Jr. was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence. Longoria Sr. was charged with assault causing bodily injury and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
