Andres Jesus Morales, 30 and Christine  Ponce, 27, have been charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance for sale.

After being investigated for a month, it is said that they had a huge amount of powerful fake opioids. It was so much, in fact, authorities said it was enough to cause 50 million people in Southern California to die.

In August, police discovered 46 pounds of carfentanil which is 100 times stronger than fentanyl. It is also 10,000 times more powerful than morphine. It is not for human use and can kill someone if they just touch it.

At the time of the seizure, the couple was not in the residence. However, on September 14, the police did a drug bust at another residence. There they found 35 pounds of cocaine and apprehended the two drug dealers.

Ponce and Morales are being detained with no bail. They have both pleaded not guilty.
