Amanda Edmonds, from Georgia, has been searching for a place to live with her three children.
For over two months, her and her mate have been residing in a tent. Her kids live inside their grandparents’ little house.
Edmonds stated the couple brought in money during the pandemic and never accepted unemployment. As she fills out rental applications, she has spent over $700, gets approved, and nothing progresses.
Edmond has been affected by the decrease in housing options and a pandemic that won’t let up.
The CDC’s eviction moratorium is supposed to assist individuals who are having challenges paying expenses. However, the main issue is the $45 billion of federal money set aside just for that has not been given yet.
“When I lay my head down at night, the one thing that rambles through my mind is, what can I do tomorrow to get us a home,” Edmonds said.
