The family of a woman who’s in ICU after being attacked by a pack of dogs will face the animals’ owner in court.
The owner, Justin Minor, has been charged with breaking three animal-control laws for having his dogs loose. While loose, the dogs attacked Kyleen Waltman as she was walking home in March.
Waltman’s sister has announced that the family will attend Minor’s next court hearing on Thursday.
Waltman, 38, lost her arms, her colon, and is currently still in the hospital fighting for her life. She underwent yet another surgery just this week.
A large amount of Waltman’s infected shoulder bones had to be removed so she will not be able to use regular arm prosthetics. She is also in danger of losing her because of an infection that continues to spread.
According to her sister, Waltman has not grasped the full extent of her injuries, asking her mother to hold her non-existent hand.
The family is seeking justice as they battle the everyday pain of not knowing if she will recover.
