On Monday night, ex-running back Otis Anderson, Jr., 23, was fatally shot at his parent’s residence in Jacksonville, Florida.
Otis Anderson Jr.’s mother, Denise Anderson, told authorities that Anderson Jr. and his father, Otis Anderson Sr., had gotten into a disagreement after the father was bitten by the son’s girlfriend’s dog.
Then, Denise and her husband began arguing when the son left. After Anderson Jr. heard the disturbance, he came back and the father and son continued disputing. The father left, returned, and shot his son in the chest. When Denise began to hit her husband, he started shooting at her.
Anderson Jr. was transported to a hospital where he died. Furthermore, Denise Anderson was hospitalized after suffering several graze wounds, but she was released.
Anderson Sr. is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.
Otis Anderson Jr. played for University of Central Florida, UFC, from 2017 to 2020 and was apart of the Los Angeles Rams training camp this year.
