Ex-NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was discovered dead in a Florida residence. Davis played 10 seasons prior to retiring in 2018.

Reports indicate that a male body was located at a residence that belongs to Davis’s grandmother on Monday in Southwest Ranches, Florida.

Authorities say that no foul play is suspected, and an investigation is continuing.

“We lost a great today!!! RIP TO @vontae davis man nothing but good memories of that dude in school!” wrote his ex-college football coach Chester Frazier on the X app.

Davis began his football career at Dunbar High School in Washington D.C. and was listed as the No. 33 cornerback recruit in the country.

In the 2009 NFL Draft, Davis was selected as the 25th overall pick. Subsequent to that, he played for the Dolphins, Colts, and Bills. The two-time Pro Bowler also had 396 tackles, 22 interceptions, and two sacks.

In the middle of a Bills game in 2018, he suddenly retired.

Davis was 35 years old.
