Elementary School Launches ‘Share Bin’ For Students Who Desire More Food During Lunch

1.4kviews

A school in Berea, Ohio, has come up with an innovative idea to ensure that cafeteria food doesn’t go to waste.

They have created something called the “Share Bin.” They have advertised it to students as a place to put unwanted, uneaten, and unopened food items.

Students who purchase their lunch are able to put unwanted and unopened food on an ice tray. If other students desire more food once they have completed their lunch, they are welcome to pick one item from the share bin.

Grindstone Elementary PTA states that this procedure lessens waste and “makes tummies full.”
