El Paso Man Accused Of Setting Deadly House Fire With Mother And Brother Inside Because They Didn’t Follow The Bible

An El Paso man was arrested after he set fire to his residence killing his brother and injuring his mother.

According to reports officers were called to a house fire on the 6000 block of Fandango Place around 11:30pm Thursday.

Phillip Daniel Mills,40 allegedly became upset with his mother Florence Annette Mills,82 and his brother Paul Mills,54 because they did not follow the Bible.

As a result, he set the couch on fire to rid the home of evil while his mom and brother slept.

When the El Paso fire department arrived they saw Florence running out the home with severe burns.

Fire rescuers pulled his brother Paul from the blazing home, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florence was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where she is being treated for her injuries.

Mills was arrested Friday and charged with capital murder and arson. He remains in jail on a $2.5 million bond.
