Ron Holland, a senior at Duncanville High School, is well known in the basketball world. First, helping Duncanville win two 6A state championships, now brining home a medal from the FIBA U-17 World Cup.
Within the graduating class of 2023, Holland is currently the highest ranked basketball player in Texas. He’s a five-star recruit and ESPN’s fourth-ranked national recruit.
On Sunday, Holland, along with the WorkForce USA team, won the gold medal at the FIBA U-17 World Cup.
FIBA U-17 is an under-17 men’s world basketball championship organized by the International Basketball Federation.
In the final championship game, U.S. beat Spain 79-67. Holland scored 13 factors and pulled 7 rebounds in 27 minutes.
The win was Workforce USA’s sixth consecutive on the world event.
