Duncanville ISD has announced that they are naming the Panthers Stadium field after one of their own, head coach Reginald Samples.
“For all of us, he was a father figure, a counselor, a motivator. He drove us hard to get out of the poverty we were in…,” said assistant head coach and Samples’s former student Ramel Borner.
Samples has coached for over 30 years in various schools such as Lincoln High School, Skyline High School, and now Duncanville High School. He has won more than 300 games, including state and district Championships.
Samples has noted that he is honored and grateful to leave a legacy for his family. He has expressed his satisfaction in making a positive impact in the lives of young men who have later shown their appreciation for him.
On Thursday, November 2, at 6:30 p.m., the naming ceremony for Panther Stadium field will take place. This will occur right before the last home game of the regular season where Duncanville will play against Mansfield Legacy.
