The last living member of the Motown group the Four Tops, Duke Fakir, has died.

According to TMZ, Fakir’s relatives noted that he passed away at his residence in Detroit due to heart failure.

Fakir had been in the music industry for 70 years, prior to closing out his career in early 2024.

He was known for his high, calming voice, the total opposite from Levi Stubbs, the baritone lead singer.

In 1990, after being one of the first groups of Motown, the Four Tops were accepted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

With Duke as one of the main singers,  the Four Tops created great hits like, “I Can’t Help Myself,” “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” “When She Was My Girl,” and many others.

Three of the original Four Tops members passed away between 1997 and 2005. Thus, Duke continued to keep the group’s legacy alive by adding more group members and still performing for live audiences.

Duke Fakir was 88 years old.
