DPD Issues Arrest Warrant For Chiefs Rashee Rice In Relation To 8 Charges Linked To Multi-Vehicle Wreck

An arrest warrant has been issued for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and ex-SMU star Rashee Rice by the Dallas Police Department. This is for his part in a multi- vehicle accident that occurred last month.

A recording of the occurrence on March 30 depicted a Corvette and Lamborghini SUV racing in the left lane and losing control. Afterwards, the vehicles slammed into four other cars.

Authorities named 23-year-old Rice as the driver of the Lamborghini and 21-year-old Theodore Knox as the operator of the Corvette.

Both drivers are facing charges of one count of aggravated assault and one count of collision involving serious bodily injury. They each are charged with six counts of collision involving injury, as well.

Teddy Knox is currently listed on the roster on SMU’s football website.

Authorities in Dallas say that Rice and Knox had been traveling on North Central Expressway when four people were hurt in the chain-reaction wreck.

Officials say that all of the people in the Lamborghini and the Corvette left from the wrecked vehicles without providing any assistance to others.

Police say that the passengers in the cars will not face any charges.

When Rice met with authorities last week, he acknowledged his role in the wreck and expressed his remorse to everyone involved.

As of now, DPD has noted that neither Rice nor Knox are in their custody as the NFL has noted that they are monitoring the ongoing situation.

Last season, Rice was a rookie in the NFL and earned a championship with the Kansas City Chiefs. Prior to going to the NFL, he spent four seasons at SMU in Dallas. The wreck occurred not too far from the institution.
