‘Doomsday Mom’ Sentenced to Life in Prison

The ‘Doomsday’ mother who killed two of her children was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Monday.

Lori Vallow Daybell was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder for the 2019 incident.

The bodies of two of her children, 7-year-old Joshua Vallow, and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan were found on her husband’s property in Idaho.

She was also found guilty of killing her husband’s first wife, Tamara Daybell.

According to prosecutors, the 50-year-old mother murdered innocent people because of her religious beliefs in a Doomsday plot.

At the court hearing of her sentencing, Lori recited a bible verse. “Jesus knows me and Jesus understands me. I mourn with all of you who mourn my children and Tammy.” She continued, “Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened here. … No one was murdered in this case. Accidental deaths happen. Suicides happen. Fatal side effects from medications happen.”

Judge Steven Boyce, who approved a motion to dismiss the death penalty, handed down the life sentence on Monday.
