A shrimp boat Captain’s dog has found his way back home after falling overboard in Galveston Bay.
Keith “Kiwi” Soffes’s and his dog, Monster, set sail from San Leon, Texas like they normally do.
Last week, however, Monster fell overboard while his owner was navigating the boat in Galveston Bay. Soffes says he was at least 5 mile from the shore when he realized that his dog was gone.
The heartbroken Captain returned home without his beloved dog.
Soffes then turned to Facebook for help. He posted ‘lost dog’ ads and pleaded for his pup’s safe return, even though he doubted it with such a long swim for Monster to endure.
5 days later Soffes was reunited with his dog after a woman commented on his post, offering information about where she’d seen him.
He was located at a trailer park, where a man had found him and kept him safe.
Soffes says his dog will wear a life-jacket and tracking device from now on.
