Devoted Police Officer Shot and Killed During Disturbance Call

On Sunday, a police officer was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

Roy Andrew “Drew” Barr, 28, arrived at a Cayce South Carolina home around 2:48am. Barr began speaking with a man outside the home when someone inside started firing multiple gun shots.

Barr was fatally shot once.

The shooter, Austin Leigh Henderson, 36, killed himself after a seven hour standoff with police.

Barr was devoted to the community. He served as a police K-9 officer, emergency medical technician, and volunteer firefighter.
