After responding to a disturbance call on Friday evening, in Lake County, Florida, 28-year-old Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Link, of Lake County, Florida, was fatally shot while being trapped inside of a residence. Two other deputies were wounded, as well, as they tried to assist him.
Officials have noted that two suspects were killed and another was hurt when authorities went into the home and tried to get to Link.
At about 8 p.m., two deputies went to the residence prior to being told to go to another residence where they discovered that a door seemed to have been kicked in.
As authorities were inside, they were met with numerous of gunshots.
Deputy Link was shot and was still inside of the residence while the other officer made it out. Other officers then came to the scene and went inside the home but were met with more gunshots. This resulted in other officers being hit, as well.
Authorities say that one of the officers was struck in the shoulder and was in stable condition. A third officer was struck in the groin, armpit, and stomach area several times and was listed in serious condition after having surgery.
When the SWAT team members went into the home, in Eustis, they found two suspects dead and another was transported to a medical facility. Later, several guns, including long guns and handguns, were discovered in the home.
Link had been with the Lake County sheriff’s office since 2019.
