Daycare Worker Arrested After Video Surveillance Shows Her Dropping A 1 Year Old On The Floor

A Florida daycare worker has been arrested after a video showed her dropping a 1 year old on the floor and slapping an infant.

The incidents occurred on September 8 at Time of Wonder Daycare, when surveillance cameras caught Yamirka Menendez,51 abusing two children.

The first one was around 8am when Menendez was seen snatching a 1 year old boy by his wrist and throwing him in the air and letting him hit the floor.
Around noon she is seen slapping the same child in the head.

About an hour later Menendez is seen slapping a 4 month old infant.
The next day the mother noticed her son experiencing pain in his foot and took him to the doctor.
The doctor indicated that the child had a broken tibia and fibula.

On September 23 the child was re-examined by University of South Florida Child Protection Team, which determined he was a victim of physical abuse.
Detectives reviewed the video footage at the daycare.
Menendez was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, child abuse, and battery.
A second daycare worker, Milagros Rodriguez,52 was also arrested and charged with failing to report child abuse.
