Dallas Woman Facing Arson Charges After Two People Were Injured

A 30 year old woman has been arrested and charged with arson after setting an Oakcliff home on fire.
The incident happened Saturday around 5:30am on the 800 block of E. 9th Street.
Firefighters responded to the fire to learn an off duty officer had already went inside and saved two victims.
They were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Moniqua Juanita Queme,30 was later detained and admitted to setting the fire and leaving the home without telling anyone.
She told officers that she started the fire on the first floor, of a two story home, in the living room using charcoal and lighter fluid.
After investigating, detectives said her story matched the evidence.
Queme was arrested and charged with arson causing bodily injury or death.
Her bond is set at $75,000.
The victims were later identified as Queme’s father and grandmother.
