A Dallas police officer accused of killing a cat in Pleasant Grove last month was fired from the department last week.
Officer Jesse Coates, who was a trainee was placed on administrative leave on August 28, pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
Apparently on August 21 Coates and some other officers responded to a disturbance call around 12:45am on the 9900 block of Bluffcreek Dr.
Upon arrival Coates saw a cat in distress and killed it.
It is unknown why the cat was in distress and officers didn’t release any other details.
Coates was hired in January 2020.
Look how quick an officer gets terminated over killing an animal versus a human being. Smh
