2.5kviews

A Dallas pastor has been convicted of theft of property valued at $300,000 or more.

56 year old Whitney Foster is said to have scammed at least three churches while trying to run a small congregation without a place to gather. They claim Foster filed fraudulent deeds, listing a fake leader for the churches as the grantors and naming his church in his own name as the grantee.

The three known churches affected were First Christian Church of Lancaster and, in Dallas, Canada Drive Christian Church and Church at Nineveh.

Two of the three properties are still under the defendant’s or his church’s name, with his congregation actively gathering at one of them. The third property remains embroiled in legal complications caused by Foster’s actions.

Foster had over $800,000 in stolen property and at least seven more properties were mentioned to the jury as evidence against Foster.

After hearing from the lead prosecutor Phillip Clark the jury was able to make their judgement and the judge sentenced Foster to 35 years in prison.
