The body of a missing Dallas man was recovered from a river in Italy Thursday.
According to reports, 21 year old Elijah Oliphant came in town on Monday with family. He was reported missing by family on Tuesday after he left the hotel and never returned.
On Thursday Oliphant’s body was discovered by Italian police in the Tiber River, near the Trastevere neighborhood.
The family released a statement on social media Thursday confirming their son had been found.
They also stated that they are working through the process to learn what happen and get his body back home. Although there are no signs of foul play an autopsy will be performed.
No further details have been given at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
