Dallas Dollar General Clerk Murdered, Suspect Apprehended In Tennessee

25-year-old Kemone Rudd has been taken into custody for the killing of a store clerk in Southeast Dallas on Dec. 14.

Rudd was apprehended by the US Marshals in Ripley, Tennessee, on Monday, for the murder of 31-year-old Michael Pierson. He now being held in the Lauderdale County Jail and is waiting to be brought back to Texas.

Pierson was fatally shot as he worked inside a Dollar General store on S. Beltine Road. Authorities say that he did nothing wrong as the man with a firearm went into the store at about 5:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Pierson is the oldest of three brothers who now have to grapple with his killing. They have described him as always positive and continuously making others feel good about who they are.

“I don’t wish this pain on anybody, especially when they were innocently at work just trying to make a living,” stated the victim’s mother.

Pierson also leaves behind a 10-year-old son.
