On February 2, 2024, at about 8:35 p.m., Dallas police answered to a call for service in the 8500 block of S. Central Expressway.
Then, they learned that a driver and his passenger, 42-year-old Roberto Martinez-Gonzalez, were headed eastbound at 2800 Ledbetter Drive, right before Bonnie View Rd. That’s when the driver tried to get his cell phone, swerved, and struck the suspect’s truck. The unidentified suspect came alongside of them and fired at both victims. The victims tried to go after the suspect’s car but came to a halt in the 8500 block of S. Central Expressway.
First responders answered to the scene and took the victims to a medical facility. The driver was listed in stable condition, but Martinez-Gonzalez succumbed to his wounds.
