Dallas Couple Who Called 911 to Report Wanted Man Deemed Ineligible to Receive Reward

A Dallas couple who called 911 after spotting Leonard Neale, which ultimately led to his arrest, are told they don’t qualify for the Crime Stoppers reward.

41-year-old Leonard Neale was wanted for kidnapping and sexual assault after abducting two children, ages 9 and 7.

According to FOX4 , Briana and Kenyatta Jordan, who have 6 children of their own, spotted Neal entering a bus on July 7. The couple called 911 immediately to report the sighting and followed the bus until officers arrived and pulled the vehicle over.

The wanted man was then apprehended and taken into custody.

Following the incident, Briana and Kenyatta learned about the $5,000 reward issued from Crime Stoppers, which is operated by the North Texas Crime Commission. When the couple tried to collect their reward, however, Crime Stoppers informed them that they weren’t eligible because they called 911 rather than the tip line.

Briana and Kenyatta argue that the post on Dallas Police Department’s website states to contact either Crime Stoppers or 911 with information.

The couple are still hopeful that things will turn around and they will receive the money they so rightfully deserve.
