The executive director of the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center, Darryl Beatty, has resigned from his position following an ongoing investigation.
According to reports The Texas Office of the Inspector General made a pop up visit to the juvenile center where they found several violations. After the unannounced visit they have opened up a new investigation into the detention center.
There were also previous allegations regarding inhumane living conditions for the teens as well as them being locked in their cells all day.
A meeting will be held Monday at noon in regards to Beatty’s replacement. The meeting will be held at the Dallas County Juvenile Board at the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center at 2600 Lone Star Drive.
