Corey Comperatore Identified As Person Fatally Shot At Trump Rally While Protecting His Wife & Daughter
Authorities in Pennsylvania have named the person who was killed during the attempted assassination of ex-President Donald Trump.
Governor Josh Shapiro announced that Corey Comperatore, who had attended the rally, was killed by the sniper who had shot Trump.
Comperatore, a husband, father-of-two, and a volunteer fire chief, was killed while protecting his wife and daughter from gunfire.
Allyson Comperatore, Corey’s daughter, posted online, stating that her dad always provided everything that she and her sister needed. She added that he easily made friends, believed deeply in God, and was always present when asked.
A GoFundMe has been started for Corey’s relatives, following the tragedy, and it has already garnered almost $200,000.
The shooting occurred on Saturday afternoon, with recordings depicting the moment that Trump was shot in the ear, blood streaming down his face in later images.
Footage has also just been released, showing the assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, firing his rifle and swiftly being taken down by the Secret Service.
Corey Comperatore was 50.
