Police Officer Shot In Leg By Suspect During Pat Down

An Oklahoma police officer is recovering after being shot in the leg by a suspect during a pat down.

The incident happened in the 2300 block of South Kate on March 2 when an officer responded to a disturbance call.

When Officer Bryce Sheehan arrived he located Crasteven Kennon Wilson,23 that matched the suspect description. While attempting to conduct a pat down for weapons the officer was shot in the leg.

Sheehan returned fire striking Wilson. Wilson then tried to flee the scene in the officers squad car. When he was unsuccessful he attempted to flee on foot.

He was eventually caught and transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

The officer was treated for his injuries and repressed from the hospital.

Sheehan was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
