College Athlete Fatally Hit By Car While Running on Road

Police say that an athlete from Milligan University, in Williamsburg, Virginia, was killed on Thursday night.

As the athlete and other members of the men’s cross country and track and field teams were running on a road, they were hit by a car.

Altogether, five people were transported to a hospital, and Eli Cramer, 20, passed away.

Alex Mortimer and Eli Brady were hurt in the occurrence. Jose Efrain Hernandez Mancia, the 26-year-old driver, is facing charges for DUI and other offenses.

This week, the team was supposed to participate in a competition at William & Mary.

Cramer was a third finisher on the 2021 national championship cross-country team. As it relates to track and field, he was a four-time national qualifier.
