Public health officials are encouraging parents to get their kids vaccinated. Thus, New York City is providing an incentive for parents of children 5-11 to get the shot. They will be given $100 for every child in this age range to get inoculated.
“It buys a whole lot of candy, that’s right,” stated Mayor Bill de Blasio.
In the next couple of days, New York City is set to receive 330,000 vaccine doses. They are planning to set up vaccination clinics at schools throughout the city in the upcoming week.
“If we were to vaccinate every New Yorker aged 5 to 11, we would prevent an estimated 38,000 cases of COVID-19,” said New York City’s Health Commissioner.
Chicago, San Antonio, and Louisiana have started similar incentive programs. However, a study done last month showed that the incentive programs weren’t increasing vaccination rates.
Still, officials hope that the money will encourage kids to get vaccinated ahead of the holidays when infections may rise.
For the win, participants need certainly to have a certain combo within the
modern jackpot-this transpires in some cases.
